Hey guys,
I'm new here and I'm not even sure I'm in the right place, feel free to message me and tell me I'm in the wrong place if that's the case. I'm currently studying MPLS in order to get my ISCW. I'm one of those guys that over studies and does a lot of labs, so I started to brainstorm and think of ways to test out MPLS.
I have a SONET/ATM background, at the technician level and have a experience adming Marconi Switches. While learning Marconi, I ended up buying 4 ASX-200's and did a number of labs that helped me really understand ATM enough to troubleshoot.
Now that I'm learning MPLS, I figure that my next step to really learn MPLS is to bring in my own strengths and learn it as it relates to ATM. There's a number of publications that help me learn the subject of cell-mode MPLS, but none of them really help when it comes to creating a Lab scenario. All I've gotten online is that it's available in the one ATM switch I don't have access to, "ASX-4000". I did read that there could be an upgrade in the software to allow me to set up MPLS, but that publication was written a few months before Marconi was bought out by Erricson.
I spoke to some of our Engineers and they said that it is available with our version of the IOS, but I don't see anywhere that allows for any type of IGP which required to set up MPLS.
Anyone here can help guide me to get this done? If you can, I'll create a tutorial that I will post on this site for others that want to do the same.
